The Board of Directors of Nuevas Generaciones de Lanzarote agreed at its last meeting last Friday to convene the IV Island Congress in which the young people of the PP will proceed to elect their president and the composition of their new governing bodies.
The Board, chaired for the last few years by Juan Rivera, also a PP councillor in the San Bartolomé Town Hall, approved the holding of the congress for next March 16 and the appointment of the Organising Committee. This committee will be chaired by Moreiba Fernández, PP councillor in Tinajo, Rayco Mesa as Secretary and Javier Cancio as Member.
The election system for the new team will be governed by the new Statutes approved at the XVIII National Congress of the party, which prioritise the participation of members. During the congress, the young people of Nuevas Generaciones will debate two papers focusing on education and the new political era of young people within the Popular Party.
The current president of Nuevas Generaciones, Juan Rivera, wanted to thank his colleagues for the support they have offered him during this time "of which we are very proud", highlighting the participation that the young people of NNGG have acquired within the Popular Party of Lanzarote "gaining prominence in active politics and public management in local administrations".
Rivera has called on young people to be encouraged to participate in the whole process that will lead to the Island Congress in March.
