Four months after the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, announced that she was giving the company Clece a period of 20 days to start the works in the Argana Pavilion, the reform has not yet begun. And, according to the Councilor for Sports, Rosmen Quevedo, on Radio Lanzarote, we are waiting for the City Council to approve the economic item that it has to contribute.

The only thing that has varied in recent months, according to the councilor himself, is that the company “has already accepted the modification”, something that did not happen in February. “It is a giant step to reach an agreement with the company and execute that modification. Previously, the company refused to do so, because they did not believe it was the appropriate project”, says the Councilor for Sports.

“Now we are in a more technical period, we have to make the modification of the contract through the contracting department”, points out the Councilor for Sports, who explains that these modifications are based "on the realization of legal and economic reports”, which support the economic part that the City Council has to contribute.

“The company has already assumed an amount of around 835,000, and the rest will have to be contributed by the City Council”, he explains. That amount is almost 70% of the total reform project, which the councilor points out amounts to 1,200,000 euros.

"I know that times are slow and it is difficult for citizens to explain, but we have no choice but to wait”, he concludes.
