The staff of the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council has returned to occupy the administrative area of the House of Culture "Agustín de La Hoz", an office on the first floor from which the management activity of the department will be resumed. This has been announced by the City Council, which has adopted this decision after the departure of the CC government group, which managed the Culture area.

"More than a decade has passed since the workers of the area left the facility due to the start of the rehabilitation works of the centenary building, which lasted longer than expected. During that period they were located in offices in the Titerroy neighborhood and later, in a warehouse conditioned in the Charco area, with an adjoining exhibition hall," explains the City Council in a statement.

In addition, it recalls that "the poor conditions for the development of the work led the Security and Health Committee of the Arrecife City Council to request their transfer", a request that has now been met with the move to the House of Culture.

According to the responsible councilor, Jimena Álvarez, "the dignification of the work of the technicians of that department and of the cultural management itself have been the reasons for the transfer." "The firm commitment to a quality public culture, accessible to all people, begins with having a space according to this conviction, not only for the exhibition and display of art but also for its processing," she says.

"The flagship of the Culture of Arrecife is a notable example of the residential architecture of the 19th century and we show the world the local History in a 16th century fortress, our castle of San Gabriel. We have true patrimonial jewels on the maritime Avenue, which are a source of pride for its inhabitants and a letter of introduction of a city that advances towards the future," Álvarez points out.
