The City Council decreed this Tuesday the termination of the administrative contract for the execution project of the Playa Blanca Sports Hall and notified said act to the bankruptcy administrative entity, Tecea Assurance S.L.P, of the awarding company Levantina Ingeniería y Construcción S.L. This one entered into bankruptcy proceedings last summer, according to confirmed by the Commercial Court number 1 of Valencia, leaving its obligations unfinished.

The mayor, Óscar Noda, reports that "we have taken all the technical and legal steps on this cumbersome road to settle the contract with the bankruptcy entity and be able to draft the specifications, tender the pending works and finalize the project".

The City Council commissioned a valued report to detail one by one the works to be executed, which in a first report determines, on the one hand, the verification and certification of all the interior installations, such as electrical installations, air conditioning, swimming pool systems, generator set, telecommunications, plumbing and sanitation, and on the other hand, the conclusion of works in the exterior area of the building dedicated to recreation.

The first objective of the City Council since it drew the roadmap to recover and finalize the work was to order the expert appraisal of the current state of the project in order to assume the pending works and put the installation at the service of citizens. "We found a company that left the work half done, which entered into bankruptcy proceedings and we have had to, like other Spanish public administrations, find a viable solution in compliance with the law," he declares.

The City Council recognizes the payment of 520,000 euros as liquidation without the seizure of the definitive guarantee being appropriate until the culpability of the bankruptcy is judicially declared. The report of the Intervention services of the City Council favorably supervises the contract termination file, as well as its pronouncement regarding the seizure of the guarantee.

The company has requested a price revision of 112,000 euros, but Yaiza understands that it is not an allegation to the file in question and chooses to analyze this request in another file to proceed to approve or reject said request.
