The Socialist Party of Lanzarote has announced that it "supports, shares and will support" the general strike called by the unions for this Wednesday, November 14. Its general secretary, Dolores Corujo, has launched a message to society to join the stoppages and attend the demonstration called for 6:30 p.m. that day, which will run between the old Cabildo and the Islas Canarias park, in Arrecife.
The Lanzarote PSOE will ask its public officials on the island that, even if they go to their jobs, they renounce in writing their remuneration for that day, in order to explicitly support the mobilization. In addition, they will promote among their members and supporters the support for the protest acts organized on 14-N, whose objective is to transfer to the Government the rejection of the political and economic situation of the country.
Corujo recalled that "the PP's budget project does not contribute to guaranteeing the level of public services in the Canary Islands and is insensitive and not very supportive of the Archipelago".
Food request
On the other hand, the PSOE will support the proposal to go to the demonstration with non-perishable food for delivery at the end of the act to the NGO Calor y Café.
"The most shocking and painful face of the crisis is offered to us every day by people who, after normalized lives, survive thanks to citizen solidarity and the valuable work of these organizations. Any fundraising campaign is justified and always necessary," Corujo said.
