The socialist Juan Jesús Hernández Cabrera became the new general secretary of the PSOE of Tinajo last Thursday. The new local leader was chosen unanimously by the Assembly, since 99% of the members of the municipality supported the candidacy with their votes. With the proclamation of the new general secretary of the socialists of Tinajo, the composition of the new Local Committee, which will be made up of about thirteen members, is also determined.
The Tinajo Assembly thus complies with the process of renewing organic positions that the Socialist Party undertook after the celebration of its VII Island Congress, last December. Among the new representatives of the local body, it is worth highlighting the figure of the president, in the hands of Víctor Barrios for the next four years, and that of the organization secretary, which falls to Julio César Merino.
With the election of Juan Jesús Hernández, a new stage begins within the formation at the municipal level and this was reflected in the words of the new leader. "I hope that the best for our party comes out of here. We are eager and we are going to work for the implementation of the PSOE in the municipality," Hernández said, while making clear his commitment to "try to improve the representation of the group in the City Council." And the PSOE currently has three councilors in the Consistory.
Internally, the Assembly approved the management of the previous manager, Cristin Morales, who abandoned the task of leading the party, thanking the colleagues for their support over the last four years.
On Thursday night, the leadership of the Local Committee of San Bartolomé was also renewed, whose general secretariat will continue in the hands of the councilor in the municipality, Andrés Stinga.
