The councilor of the Socialist Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and former councilor responsible for the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, has accused the current councilor of the area, Ángel Vázquez, of withdrawing the increase in rates for the third time from the Centers on the agenda of the Board of Directors due to the lack of a technical report to support it.
“With the extensive experience that Ángel Vázquez has in public administration, it is implausible that he is unaware that proposals must be accompanied by a technical report that supports the proposal for said increase. It's basic management. This way of acting demonstrates incompetence and puts the Centers in an embarrassing situation,” Perdomo highlighted.
The councilor recalled that recently the Socialist Group denounced that Ángel Vázquez was leaving this rate increase on the table “without a convincing explanation.” Thus, he highlighted that “Ángel Vázquez is proving us right for the second time. We want to remind him that the person responsible for the Tourist Centers of Lanzarote has the obligation to defend the public interest,” lamented the councilor of the Socialist Group, who have positioned themselves in favor of a rate increase that is carried out progressively.
In other matters, Perdomo has also denounced the elimination of subsidies for cultural projects that began to be granted in the last legislature. “The new councilor has decided to eliminate the way of distributing the benefits of the Centers that belong to all the people of Lanzarote and Graciosa and that contributed in a valuable and direct way to the associative fabric of the island. In this sense, he has found the negative vote of the Socialist Group,” Perdomo concluded.
