The PSOE of Teguise describes as "disappointing" the latest appearance of the mayor of the municipality, Oswaldo Betancort, on the situation of the "skeleton of shame", located in Costa Teguise. In addition, the socialist formation assures that Betancort has refused "for eight months" to explain it and has now been "forced" by the request for an extraordinary plenary session of the socialist group.

In the opinion of the socialist leader from Teguise, Marcos Bergaz, "the mayor is leaving the City Council without solving the problem of this skeleton in the heart of Costa Teguise, which is still standing and in which more and more people are living badly every day."

"However, not only does he leave this big problem as a legacy, but after eight months preparing his response to the requests of the socialist team, he missed the opportunity to apologize to the citizens tired of unfulfilled promises," says Bergaz.

For the socialists, "even, despite the invitation of the socialist leader, he missed the opportunity to condemn the trigger for this and other skeletons: the illegal granting of licenses, perhaps ashamed by the participation of prominent colleagues from the Canarian Coalition," emphasizes Bergaz.

12 years and without specifying

"The reality is that the skeleton of shame has been mortifying the residents and harming the tourist image of the town for 12 years, without a solution in sight despite the repeated promises of the Teguise government," they point out from the ranks of the PSOE.

"In addition, they are capable of presenting as a great achievement having requested the property on March 6, 2023 to properly fence it, and they do so without blushing, when it is a plot and problem that has been going on for more than a decade, although nothing surprises us anymore, since eight months ago he admitted to the justice system that he did not even have the judicial file," laments Bergaz.

To conclude, the socialist group states that "we are once again fulfilling the promise given to the citizens by demanding explanations from the Government of Teguise on an issue that they wanted to ignore, even though the clarifications of the still mayor seemed frankly disappointing to us."
