The PSOE of Teguise has reported this Monday that it has achieved the unanimous approval in this week's plenary session of its initiative to promote the drafting of a Master Plan that will define the future of the Agrotechnological Complex of Teguise.

The initiative has had the support of all political groups and aims to provide this strategic facility with a plan that allows for its ordering, modernization, and revitalization, taking advantage of its full potential in the service of the primary sector of Teguise and Lanzarote.

The socialists argue that this Master Plan must become a true short, medium, and long-term roadmap, based on coordination between the Teguise City Council and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which guarantees an effective management model adapted to the current needs of the sector.

The socialist spokesperson, Marcos Bergaz, highlighted that “it is essential to take advantage of the full potential of this historic facility, currently underutilized, and put it at the service of the primary sector of Teguise and Lanzarote”.

The approved motion proposes comprehensive planning to identify needs and opportunities, program investments, and coordinate efforts between administrations and stakeholders. It also includes the modernization of facilities, improvement of management, organization of uses, incorporation of innovative solutions, and the application of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability measures.

The agreement also includes the active participation of primary sector representatives in the process of developing the future Master Plan, with the aim of reaching a consensus on a development model that responds to the real needs of farmers, ranchers, and producers.

For Bergaz, “the primary sector, in addition to recognition and fairs, needs concrete solutions that contribute to overcoming bureaucratic obstacles, guaranteeing access to water, and improving strategic infrastructure, including the Agrotechnological Complex of Teguise itself”.

With this unanimous agreement, the PSOE considers that an important step has been taken to face strategic decisions that have been pending for years and to turn this complex into a key infrastructure for the economic development and economic diversification of Teguise and Lanzarote.
