The PSOE of Arrecife has gone to court to be able to see the Ginory land speculation file, "since Yonathan has systematically boycotted access to it to prevent anyone from knowing what is happening with the biggest scandal in the history of Arrecife."

The socialists explain that the party "has requested access to the file up to five times so far this legislature, having done so in writing on November 14, January 23, February 16 and March 6, and orally in the plenary session on December 29." "In each and every one of the requests we have encountered various excuses to prevent people from knowing what the current mayor, and the PP, are doing with the aforementioned process," they add.

“We have had no choice but to request this information through the courts, and since March 21, we have filed a legal procedure for breach of fundamental rights, so that a judge forces the mayor to allow the PSOE and the people of Arrecife to see the documentation,” says Cristina Duque.

A case made in PP

The socialists point out that "everything that surrounds Ginory, no matter which of the Popular Party is the mayor, when the PP governs there is the greatest secrecy, in which the result is always disastrous for the City Council and the residents, and the most juicy for the owners of a land that does not exist."

They recall that "since the appointment in 2010 of Felipe Camero, a lawyer convicted of corruption, through the request for a loan of tens of millions of euros to pay the owners on December 31, in the dark, secretly and treacherously, later, the PP sabotaged the commission of inquiry." "Everything was always accompanied by vile lies such as that the loan was free, that the owners would forgive the interest, etcetera," they explain.

"The truth is that whoever is responsible for the PP who is in the mayor's office continues to hide the information and the PSOE has had no option but to request it through the courts," explains Cristina Duque. “It is terrible that we have to go to court to be able to do our job as the opposition. The fact that the PSOE has to go to the justice administrations if it wants to do its democratic work as the opposition is, in essence, a serious setback,” laments the councilor.

Finally, the socialists express "their concern about what is happening with the PP-Ginori land speculation, we do not know what Yonathan de León is hiding in this file, or why he wants to hide it, but we fear the worst, and we have had to open a new channel of “dialogue" in the courts that we fear that with this mayor there will be no other way than to use it very often,” concludes Duque.
