The PSOE considers Jesús Machín incapacitated to serve as mayor: "If he has a minimum of dignity left, he should resign"

"In the midst of phase 4 of the state of alarm, Machín had an accident at eight o'clock at night while driving under the influence of alcohol," Begoña Hernández recalled.

The spokesperson for the socialist group in the Tinajo City Council, Begoña Hernández, has stated her belief that Jesús Machín is "incapacitated from continuing to hold the mayoralty after being convicted of testing positive for a breathalyzer test."

For the socialist leader, the mayor has placed himself in an unsustainable position that directly contradicts the exemplary nature that should permeate the actions of public officials.

"In the midst of phase 4 of the state of alarm, Jesús Machín had an accident at eight o'clock at night while driving under the influence of alcohol," Begoña Hernández recalled. "Unless Jesús Machín intends to convince us that he was drinking alone in a field, it is outrageous that with the town gathered in their homes, the mayor has celebrated his particular carnival Tuesday, apparently," she explained.

"If Jesús Machín has a minimum of dignity left, he should resign. The person who does not respect the rules cannot give instructions to the Local Police. The person who behaves irresponsibly cannot ask his neighbors for responsibility. The person who tries to divert attention from what happened by pointing out that he has decided not to appeal when such an appeal is impossible because he has accepted the judgment of conformity to avoid greater evils cannot hold public office," he insisted.

Finally, Hernández has labeled Machín as a "coward" and demanded that he not hide behind the Local Committee of Tinajo: "The one who was driving under the influence of alcohol was Jesús Machín, not any Committee, the one who must take a step back and leave the mayoralty is Machín, without asking any Committee for absolution," he concluded.
