The PSOE of Arrecife denounces the attitude of Yonathan de León and his government partners regarding the more than 400 homes that were planned in the previous legislature, specifically 201 in phase 1 and 200 in phase 2. A total of 401 homes that "could have alleviated the housing crisis in our city".
"But in this legislature, when there are the most housing problems, neither PP nor Coalición have planned any new public housing developments; quite the opposite. They have ordered the halt of more than 200, specifically phase 2 which should have started at the beginning of 2024, and they have slowed down the execution of another 200 which have been under construction since November 2024 and are not finished," criticize the party.
A project by Loli Corujo and Astrid Pérez
From the PSOE of Arrecife, "we are not ashamed to tell the truth, and that is that this project moved forward thanks to the commitment of a Socialist president, Corujo, and a Popular mayor, Pérez. But since Pérez left the City Council and Oswaldo arrived at the Cabildo, along with Clavijo at the Government of the Canary Islands, it has meant the shutdown of this project".
The PSOE demands that "the homes be finished with the utmost speed, and that new public housing projects be initiated so that the sons and daughters of Lanzarote have a place to live. Furthermore, the fact that decent public housing becomes available helps control housing prices".
Blockade of public housing and Maciot "negotiating with speculators"
"While public housing is being blocked, from the urban planning department in Arrecife, multi-million euro windfalls are being prepared in the new General Plan with the usual people, doing the usual things. For this, they have sent Maciot Cabrera, who has become the municipal employee at the service of the great fortunes," they conclude.
