The Adult Playback of La Villa de Teguise was a resounding success last Sunday, coinciding with the main day of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, in the town of El Mojón. The performance, organized at the invitation of the festival committee, brought together numerous neighbors and visitors who filled the hall of the Guenia Sociocultural Center to enjoy an evening full of talent, fun, and nostalgia.

The show began with an opening dedicated to San Antonio de Texas and its connection with La Villa de Teguise, a special introduction that gave way to a night where music, performances, and humor were the main protagonists.

The presentation was hosted by Delia Fernández, who accompanied the audience on a very varied artistic journey, with musical performances, impersonations of great singing stars, and different humorous sketches that maintained the festive atmosphere throughout the evening.

The repertoire included well-known songs such as Viajar hasta Mallorca, by Los Mismos; Candilejas, in tribute to Charles Chaplin; Amor eterno, by Rocío Dúrcal; Se nos rompió el amor, by Rocío Jurado; and El destino, originally performed by Juan Gabriel and Rocío Dúrcal. There was also room for humor with performances such as Las chicas del Zapping and Juanito Panchín, as well as a fun rendition of Se dice de mí, popularized by the character of Betty la Fea.

The night continued with Raffaella Carrà, an artist known for her performances on various stages on the island of Lanzarote, and a heavy metal version of Hijo de la Luna, by Selenia, which added a different touch to the show. As a grand finale, the group surprised the audience with a performance inspired by 1990s television programs, reviving those gymnastics and sports sessions that were broadcast on the small screen, with a closing to the rhythm of TV Gym and Zumba.

The combination of music, humor, characterizations, and original performances turned the show into a true party shared with the audience, who responded by filling the hall and enjoying each of the performances.

From the adult Play Back group of La Villa de Teguise, a special thank you was extended to the festival commission of El Mojón for the invitation, the welcome, and the opportunity to be part of such a significant celebration. Likewise, thanks were given to all the neighbors and attendees for their presence, participation, and affection during a night that once again highlighted the importance of popular culture, coexistence, and the festive traditions of Teguise.
