The Cabildo of Lanzarote has turned on the new public lighting on the promenade between Las Caletas and Los Mármoles. This space corresponds to section 3 of the maritime avenue that connects Costa Teguise and the capital, and for its lighting a total of 32 new streetlights with LED technology have been installed.
"With these new lights, safety is considerably improved, both for pedestrians and for cyclists and vehicles circulating on the road," says the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina.
The vice president attended the lighting of these new lights this Wednesday with the mayor and head of Works of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who positively valued this lighting "that improves the area of Los Mármoles, both for residents and for tourists who visit us."
The Cabildo of Lanzarote has invested an amount of up to 1.3 million euros for these new lights, financed with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
