The Popular Party of Yaiza has shown "its satisfaction" for the recent installation of waste compactors in Playa Blanca, a measure that it considers "positive and in line with the work to be followed to improve environmental management in the municipality."
However, the PP of Yaiza has stressed that "this step is only the beginning and has urged the local government to complete this effort with the installation of a drain that prevents the spillage of liquids onto the ground, a fundamental aspect to avoid bad odors and ensure proper waste management."
The municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, highlights "the importance of taking additional measures that ensure the cleanliness and healthiness of the area, close to the town's church and a place with a lot of traffic from residents and visitors."
“Although it has taken a long time to incorporate this type of system, installed for years in other municipalities, we cannot be satisfied and think that everything is already done,” says Monzón, who calls on the local government to conclude this process "appropriately and without delays", and proceed to install a water intake and a drain in the compactors, for proper cleaning and hygiene.
