The Popular Party of Tías has presented a motion to the municipal plenary with the aim of improving the quality and variety of sports activities that are taught in municipal facilities. The initiative arises after numerous complaints received from users who denounce the lack of adequate and updated sports equipment, which is negatively affecting the development of classes.

According to the councilor and president of the PP in Tías, Francisco Aparicio, “the situation is so alarming that the users of the Pilates classes at the Municipal Pavilion are considering doing a collection to acquire the necessary material in the face of the passivity of the government group led by José Juan Cruz”.

The motion proposes that the Tías City Council assume its responsibility in promoting physical activity as a fundamental axis of citizen well-being, providing municipal facilities with essential resources such as weights, mats, balls and cardiovascular training equipment, among others.

“Sport is health, and the City Council must guarantee that all residents can access activities in optimal conditions”, said Aparicio, who insisted that this investment will not only benefit current users, but will also help when attracting new participants and promoting an active lifestyle in the municipality.

In its proposal, the Popular Party requests a single agreement: that the City Council acquire the sports equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the directed classes offered in the municipal facilities.

These deficiencies are added to the complaint that the PP has once again put on the table these days in reference to the non-payment of sports subsidies to the clubs in the municipality that have not received a single euro, despite the fact that the season has already concluded.
