The Popular Party of Tias has denounced the "incoherencies" of the mayor Jos é Juan Juan, whom they accuse of “incongruent and having a double face” for being able to go out on the street on 18M to defend the tourist saturation of the island when he proposed a Modernization Plan for Puerto del Carmen with a new hotel or, what is the same, with the creation of new tourist beds.
For the PP, this hypocrisy is a “total lack of respect for the citizens and the residents of Tías, who if they deserve anything, it is a mayor who is clear and tells the truth”, defends the councilor and local president, Francisco Aparicio.
“Instead of that we have a mayor who does one thing and says the opposite and who always tries to justify the unjustifiable”, says the councilor, in allusion to the continuous contradictions of the socialist. In this sense, they remember that he also requested the declaration of the municipality as a stressed area when “after six years of government he has been unable to cede a single square meter of public land to build social housing”.
From the PP they underline the little credibility that the mayor has left when “what he says and what he does are as different as chalk and cheese”. When the mayor is asked if there is tourist saturation in Tías, he immediately refers to the PIOL of 91 to deny this extreme and insist that the ceiling of beds has not yet been exceeded.
