The councilors of the Popular Party of Yaiza, Juan Monzón and Guayo Rodríguez, have denounced the "elimination" of cleaning in the afternoon shift of the facilities of the municipal gymnasium of Yaiza. "This week we have received complaints and even writings addressed to the municipal government by several users of the Municipal Gymnasium after verifying the elimination of cleaning of these facilities in the afternoon shift," says Monzón.
In this regard, the populars emphasize that "the municipal gymnasium receives most users in the afternoon shift, as the teams and athletes who begin to prepare their pre-seasons also use these facilities." "For this reason, the elimination of cleaning in this shift seems completely inconceivable and intolerable to us, especially in the current health circumstances in which we find ourselves," they denounce.
"Therefore, we demand from the councilor of the area Ángel Lago an urgent and effective solution returning the cleaning staff in the afternoon shift, and ensuring the health, disinfection and necessary security for the use of the facilities by the users of the same," says Juan Monzón.
Schedules and "abandonment" of libraries
Also, from the Popular Party they again denounce one more year the "official" schedules of the Municipal Library Javier Caídas Díaz of Playa Blanca. "A senselessness without solution by the councilor of culture Daniel Medina in the more than 6 years that he directs the area," add the populars,
"Users find that several times a year the service is reduced only to the morning schedule or, simply, they have to leave because an hour later the doors are still closed. All this added to the fact that it closes for vacations at the same time as the person in charge of the installation or, as has happened this week, announcing its opening for the 20th and yet not opening until the 24th," they say.

According to the PP, "the same situation is happening in the small library of the House of Culture of Yaiza, with a ridiculous schedule from 9 to 13 hours, and with a notorious neglect, with chairs stacked in front of the shelves and without tables as a study room, among other deficiencies".
In this regard, the PP councilors recall that "not on few occasions" they have demanded a "dignified" library for the municipality. However, they point out that "to this day their demands have fallen on deaf ears" "and in the 21st century we find facilities without internet connection, without computers to facilitate the study and work of young people or with obsolete furniture".
Therefore, from the Popular Party they demand that the mayor Oscar Noda "take action on these issues, that he emphasize to his councilors that the elaboration of great cultural and sporting events should not be an excuse to abandon the daily work of the municipal facilities." "Perhaps it is time to renounce the photographic reports of self-propaganda and advertising with up to seven or eight councilors, and return to resume work in the areas they have abandoned," they conclude.
