The Popular Party of Haría has denounced "the absolute mess" in the installation of Christmas lighting in the different towns of the municipality and has expressed "the growing anger" among the residents of Arrieta and Punta Mujeres, where the City Council "has not even put up the lighting yet".

Days after the governing party inaugurated the Nativity scene and kicked off the Christmas festivities program in the north, "many towns don't know if they're going to have Christmas lights, or not, because they haven't even been installed," denounces the local president of the Popular Party, David Álvarez. He explains that, while Haría and other towns are already lit up, there are other areas, such as Arrieta and Punta Mujeres, "where not a single decoration has been put up."

"The feeling is one of **absolute neglect and a serious lack of planning** by the government of socialist Alfredo Villalba, who seems to consider that there are first-class and second-class citizens," Álvarez criticized. The Popular Party has considered it "a disgrace" that most municipalities in Lanzarote "have had their Christmas lights for days, while Haría remains practically in the dark."For the president of PP Haría, the image that the current government group of PSOE, PMH, and NC is offering "could not be worse." "It is regrettable that on such a basic issue as Christmas lighting they are incapable of thinking about the general interest and acting as a single voice," he concluded."The apathy displayed by the municipal government is frustrating, and residents and small businesses are tired of so much improvisation in public management." From the PP, they have defended the right of all towns to have their lighting and regret that the government is incapable of fulfilling basic and predictable matters as it should.
