The Popular Party of Yaiza denounces the "disorganization and constant improvisation" in which the Government of Oscar Noda has fallen, which once again has had to "leave the granting of the 10 new licenses on the table" for the provision of the municipal taxi service. "And it is that the negligence of the Government, which even presented last-minute changes in the file that had been taken to the previous commission, prevented the matter from being approved in the plenary session held this Monday", specify from the party.
“It is unacceptable that the file states that one of the four allegations that had been presented had been admitted and that suddenly in the plenary session it is said that one more had actually been approved, of which the different political groups were unaware”, explains the PP councilor, Guayo Rodríguez, who describes the “nonsense that Oscar Noda is up to”.
“In the end, the matter had to remain on the table with the damages it causes to the sector that, let's not forget, has been waiting for these licenses for more than a year and a half because modifications even had to be made to the bases themselves”, explains the councilor. “It is not good management that with the needs for fleet expansion that the taxi has in the municipality, the government continues to not do things well, acting irresponsibly and leaving the entire sector in the lurch”, adds Guayo Rodríguez.
“Today it is the taxi as a month ago it was the garbage collection service. What is clear is that these are not ways to manage public affairs, with a clear lack of foresight, planning and leadership”, denounce from the Popular Party.
Plenary sessions that "violate" the law
On the other hand, the Populars also question the "lack of rigor" of Oscar Noda, who once again has "returned to convene the municipal plenary session without complying with the law; first because the documentation of all the points was not included, and it was materially impossible to analyze all the information with so little time (less than the 48 hours required by the regulations) and then because it did not comply with the requirements of time and form and, therefore, could be considered null".
"A series of anomalous circumstances that finally closed with the agreement to deal only with the most urgent points (one of them precisely that of the taxi licenses) and leaving most of the agenda for a next session", added from the PP.
From the ranks of the PP they regret this "lack of seriousness and rigor of the mayor Óscar Noda" who “in this mandate is incapable of convening a plenary session normally, in accordance with the Law and without last-minute changes or scares”. “In the end, the mayor "is not only harming the work of the opposition, violating their rights, but also, and most importantly, is harming socio-economic sectors and groups by delaying the approval of agreements that affect them”, says the PP councilor, Guayo Rodríguez. Among these issues is, for example, a "credit modification for sports subsidies", they conclude.
