The PP asks Noda to "defend before the president of the Cabildo the maintenance of the underwater museum"

"It is difficult to understand that there is not even the slightest reproach to those responsible for the Cabildo and the Tourist Centers if, as he affirms, he was told that the removal of the two sculptures was to carry out their maintenance," says Juan Monzón

The Popular Party of Yaiza has asked the mayor of the municipality, Oscar Noda, to have "high-mindedness" and "defend before the president of the Cabildo the maintenance of the underwater museum." The popular ones consider that he should have a "respect for the artistic work" because "it has placed the municipality and, especially Playa Blanca, as a point of reference for lovers of diving and art."

The municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, believes that Noda is maintaining a "very timid position" when "what was expected of the highest municipal leader is a firmer defense of the interests of Yaiza and the small companies and diving clubs that develop part of their activity around the underwater museum." In this regard, he recalls that the clubs themselves were the ones who alerted and mobilized to prevent the dismantling of the museum in the first instance.

The popular ones consider that "Noda has wanted to look the other way and tiptoe" in all this matter because "it is difficult to understand that there is not even the slightest reproach to those responsible for the Cabildo and the Tourist Centers if, as he affirms, he was told that the removal of the two sculptures was to carry out their maintenance."

"If as an affected mayor I ask and I am offered that explanation, and two days later I see that it is a lie like the top of a pine tree and that they have stayed with me, at least what corresponds is to reproach their behavior and demand the respect that the residents of Yaiza, the professionals of the tourism sector and the artist himself deserve," says the PP spokesperson.

"What the Government of Dolores Corujo has done with the removal of the sculptures is one more sign of political mediocrity with which the government of PSOE and Podemos acts in the main institution of the island and a sample of the authoritarianism and sectarian policies that the island government has imposed," say from the PP of Yaiza. "What is not acceptable is that Mr. Noda applauds this type of actions that go against the interests of the municipality," they conclude.
