The Yaiza City Council has paid a total of 88,000 euros to fourteen entities and clubs linked to the operation of the Municipal Interest Sports Initiation Schools (EDIIM), corresponding to the second period of the 2025-2026 season, comprising the months of March to June of this year. The payment already reflects the 50,000 euro increase approved by the municipal government led by Óscar Noda in the 2026 Budget, which raises the allocation for subsidizing their activity from 130,000 to 180,000 euros, thus reaffirming Yaiza's commitment to promoting sports from an early age.

The mayor highlights that "we are increasing our investment in the Sports Schools program by 50,000 euros because it is essential to bet on grassroots sports and firmly support the clubs that work with our children and young people. This budgetary effort allows us to maintain a wide variety of sports disciplines and guarantee the continuity of a fundamental program for the training and well-being of our minors."

For his part, the Yaiza Sports Councilor, Ángel Lago, informs that "with this payment, we are up to date with the aid corresponding to the 2025-2026 season and we are already working on the next call, scheduled for January, intended for the first period of the 2026-2027 season." The councilor asks the sports clubs and entities "to be attentive to the publication of the call and to prepare the necessary documentation to process the applications within the established deadlines."

The Municipal Interest Sports Initiation Schools constitute one of the main instruments for promoting physical activity among the child and youth population of Yaiza, fostering healthy lifestyle habits and values associated with sports such as camaraderie, discipline, effort, and teamwork.

"We continue to fulfill our commitment to grassroots sports, not only with words, but with economic resources that allow clubs to develop their activity and families to have sports and educational alternatives for their children," concludes Óscar Noda.
