The Lanzarote Independents Party has celebrated in a press release that the Teguise government group has begun to place the monoliths with the names of the towns of the municipality, emphasizing that it was an "idea carried out and commissioned by the PIL, when José Dimas Martín was mayor." However, they question that the original project has been modified.

"The idea consisted of elaborating the names of the different payments along with the municipal coat of arms and the Canary flag with seven green stars (popular symbol of the Canarians), all highlighted on green and white tiles, the colors of the Teguise flag," they explain. However, the PIL adds that "CC, which defines itself as nationalist, either forgot or dropped the seven green stars from the flag."

Furthermore, they question that the first placement of a monolith in Los Cocoteros "is not defined by its correct location or its correct orientation, since as it has been installed, it can lead to confusion for all those people who intend to access the town and end up in Costa Teguise instead of Los Cocoteros."

In any case, they add that they "encourage" the government group to "continue with this work, even sell it as their own with the obligatory photo. We don't care if it benefits the residents and visitors."
