In 2022, the Local Police of Tías managed a total of 12,661 services, including 7,425 receipt of notices, 691 summons to citizens for judicial matters, or 351 interventions in traffic accidents, among other services. Also noteworthy are the 2,289 complaints for improper parking of vehicles on public roads.
In 2022, 5 new agents joined the Local Police force, and the Tías City Council is processing the occupation of 3 officer positions, for which the deadline for submitting applications ended last year, and another 6 positions to cover retirements, whose selection process was entrusted to the Government of the Canary Islands.
Last year, the Local Police of Tías processed 96 files for damages to urban furniture and roads in poor condition, in addition to another 70 files for dumping on public roads and 67 files related to signage and various issues connected with the execution of works. To these figures are added 74 urban planning infractions, 108 classified activities, and 68 for occupation of public roads in violation of urban planning regulations.
Police officers intervened on 21 occasions regarding homeless people, 8 regarding minors, 5 regarding gender violence, and 12 regarding animal protection. In turn, 18 infractions related to animals were processed, 21 infractions of sanitary measures, and 20 infractions of street vending.
Last year, the Local Police of Tías processed a total of 34 complaints for drunk driving, 30 complaints for the use of mobile devices, 24 for not wearing seat belts, and 192 various complaints for infractions of the General Traffic Regulations.
In addition, 52 files were opened for abandoned vehicles, 3 vehicles were sealed, 2 in deposit, 36 vehicles were immobilized, and 203 vehicles were moved. The 351 interventions in traffic accidents were completed with 3 interventions in run-overs and the attention to 37 minor injuries and one serious injury.
Regarding the complaints sent to the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, 140 were related to technical inspection, 39 with civil liability insurance, 13 complaints about the circulation permit, and 7 various complaints.
In judicial matters, in addition to the 691 summons to citizens, 129 reports were prepared for crimes and misdemeanors, 29 reports prepared for crimes against road safety, 22 arrests, 93 reports for loss of documents, and 5 reports sent to the Court.
In 2022, 62 reports were processed to the Island Directorate of the General State Administration, 47 to other State Security Forces, 26 to the Island Council of Lanzarote, 13 to the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, 7 to the Provincial Inspectorate of Labor and Social Security, and 17 to other organizations.
