The Local Police of Arrecife is reinforcing the controls of closing hours in nightlife venues. During this past weekend, the USCI, the Citizen Security Unit of the capital's Police, carried out a wide deployment at night, as during the early morning, both in the neighborhoods and in the city center.

As a result of these special devices, the Local Police verified the non-compliance in two venues dedicated to nightlife for non-compliance with the established regulations that regulate these activities, and have been proposed for administrative sanctions. After verifying these non-compliances, these venues proceeded to close their doors, at the request of the police officers.

The USCI agents visited, in addition, this weekend, several bars located in neighborhoods of the city to verify that they comply with their openings, categories and permitted hours.

Parallel to the schedule controls, several patrols of the Local Police visited this weekend some points in the neighborhoods of Arrecife where residents have warned that illegal activities may be taking place.

The mayor of the city, Yonathan de León, as the direct head of the Local Police, has ordered the agents to increase preventive controls in different sensitive areas of the city, and require nightlife venues to comply with their authorized hours.
