The local Committee of the Canarian Coalition (CC) in Tinajo has shown this afternoon its "total and most absolute support" to the mayor, Jesús Machín, who this Friday made his position available to the party after publicly acknowledging that the traffic accident in which he tested positive for alcohol, in which he was involved earlier this week, was due to "an error that will not happen again."
In this way, Jesús Machín "has given all the necessary explanations about the matter and has apologized to all his colleagues who, unanimously, have asked him to continue leading the Mayor's Office of the Tinajo City Council."
The members of the municipal body have agreed when pointing out that "although it is a mistake, it is not a reason to publicly flog a person who has demonstrated an impeccable career and total dedication to his people throughout the more than thirty years he has been serving as a public official."
Likewise, the councilors who are members of Machín's team have valued the figure of their mayor for the project that the Canarian Coalition has for the municipality and have stressed that it is not the time to experiment in the City Council.
"Tinajo needs a dedicated and close mayor more than ever," stressed Luis Miguel Pérez, local secretary of CC in Tinajo, while he "has lamented the despicable attitude of the PSOE spokesperson who has taken advantage of a regrettable personal mistake to play politics."
"First of all, we are people, we are neighbors, and it is very sad that she has not even bothered to send him a message to ask how he was doing, but she has had time to take advantage of her minute of glory in the media," Pérez stressed.
