The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) has published this Wednesday the resolution of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning to draft and process the III Modernization Plan of Puerto del Carmen (PMPC), promoted by the City Council of Tías, presided over by José Juan Cruz Saavedra.
The City Council of Tías, governed by PSOE, Lanzarote Avanza (LAVA) and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, has promoted its III Modernization, Improvement and Increase of Competitiveness Plan of Puerto del Carmen "to reactivate its main tourist center and promote the renovation of the accommodation plant".
According to José Juan Cruz, this plan includes public actions, such as the implementation of a socio-health center and an international diving center in the Playa Chica area, for which work is being done in collaboration with the Association of Diving Centers of Lanzarote (BUCO).
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, has also highlighted that the City Council of Tías is processing the inclusion of land that will be used for public investments, that is, for various sports and municipal infrastructures.
Renovation of hotels and shopping centers
For his part, the Councilor for Tourism, Mame Fernández, explained that the City Council has launched an office, located in El Fondeadero, where an advisory and information service is provided on this planning instrument.
The plan includes private interventions for renovation in nine accommodation establishments, renovation of two shopping centers, replacement of a commercial building, implementation of complementary equipment, implementation of health care equipment and the renovation and expansion of a theme park.
