Due to the start of the works of "Expansion of the Arrecife sanitation network", since last Thursday, February 11, and until next April, the Arrecife City Council announces cuts in different streets of the capital, as well as the occupation of the Taro Bridge, diverting all traffic, both entering and leaving Argana Baja, along the main road of San Bartolomé.
These works, whose execution consists of opening a trench to place the rainwater pipe, filling it and replacing the existing pavement, will have an approximate duration of 45 business days and will be carried out by Bruesa Construcciones, S.A.
Likewise, the capital Corporation will proceed this Wednesday, February 17, to order the closure to traffic of the section between Safantia Street and El Rápido Street, for 90 days business days, which is the execution period of the sanitation works in this area, and the works will also consist of opening a trench for the placement of the rainwater collection pipe, filling it and replacing the existing pavement.
A single lane on the Medular Road
On Monday, February 22, these works will be carried out in the roundabout between Gueldera Street and Fred Olsen Avenue, demolishing the existing roundabout, an action necessary to channel traffic, according to the construction company. Once these works are completed, its total replacement will be carried out.
On the other hand, and due to the start of these same works, it will also proceed to the occupation of a road in Calle Vía Medular, between the roundabout located in the area of the Red Cross and the Registry, and the back of said street, on February 24. According to the notification from the company in charge of the works, a lane of the road and the parking spaces in said area will be occupied, limiting traffic in this section to a single lane of the Vía Medular.
In addition, the road located at the back of the registry will be conditioned for double sense of exclusive use for users of the existing parking. The works to be carried out, which will begin next Wednesday, February 24, and will consist, as in the previous cases, of opening a trench for the placement of a rainwater collection pipe, filling it and replacing the pavement, with an estimated period of 40 business days.
Apologies for the inconvenience
Bruesa Construcción S.L. will also occupy a lane and the parking line of Calle Gueldera, towards the center of Arrecife, reducing traffic to a single lane for 35 business days, from Wednesday, February 24, between the Cabildo roundabout and the capital's cemetery roundabout.
The councilors of Traffic, Lorenzo Lemaur (PP), Roads and Works, Antonio Machín (PIL), Police, Cándido Reguera (PP) and Urbanism, Pedro de Armas, apologize to the residents for the inconvenience that these changes may cause in the road traffic of the island's capital", although they point out that "these are fundamental works for the city of Arrecife".
