The Plenary of the Security and Emergency Consortium approved this Wednesday the bidding for the adaptation of a new intervention and emergency center, called “Firefighters Intervention Post, Civil Protection and SUC Tías” for an amount of 833,688.61 euros, including IGIC.
The action will allow the adaptation of a property owned by the Cabildo in the municipality of Tías, which consists of two floors and 708 square meters built on a plot of 2,719 square meters.
The intervention will consist of the integral rehabilitation of the building, conditioning of the exterior and provision of all the necessary furniture for the use of the building by different intervention bodies, as well as by the road service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, in a tender that will be published soon so that all interested companies can participate in the corresponding public tender.
For the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, “with this new center we will gain in operability, logistics and response capacity in the event of an accident, due to its exceptional location and the possibility of housing resources from different security and emergency bodies".
For his part, the councilor of the Consortium, Marcos Bergaz, states that “once we have obtained the inter-administrative cooperation of the Tías City Council, the transfer of the property by the Cabildo and the approval of the bidding file by the plenary session of the Consortium, we are in a position to launch the tender so that whoever is awarded the contract executes the works".
"We cannot forget the effort that our majority partner, the Cabildo de Lanzarote, makes so that these investments can be carried out, since the economic resources come from a subsidy granted by the Institution”, concludes Bergaz.
