The elderly of Costa Teguise have opened a new social headquarters. The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, handed over the keys to the new meeting point that the Social Welfare area has provided for the group of elderly people who have recently formed the Asociación de Mayores Téjida. The new social headquarters of more than 100 square meters and is located in the Los Charcos Shopping Center of Costa Teguise on Avenida Islas Canarias.
"From now on its doors will be open every day of the year for all the elderly of Costa Teguise who demanded a larger and more comfortable space to meet," said the mayor during the inauguration.

"This represents an advance in social matters for the nucleus of Costa Teguise, since after the demand of our elders for a new meeting point, they are being given a response," said the mayor.
Delay
Betancort pointed out that he regrets "the delay" that has occurred, although he indicated that he believes it has been worth the wait. "Now the important thing is that the elderly themselves energize it and share something as positive as friendship, enthusiasm and new projects," he said.

For her part, the municipal head of the area, Nori Machín, explained that the previous premises had become small. This is why it was decided to enable a new one. "I encourage all the elderly of Costa Teguise to join this association so that they consume this space and all the activities that are proposed from the Senior Animation Service," urged Nori Machín.
