Although he assures that there has been no material damage.
"The flames alerted the neighbors who contacted the firefighters and the mayor himself, Manuel Báez," detailed the Local Police. This is an event that throughout the morning attracts a good number of neighbors, on whom rumors float that point to the reason being related to the political tension of recent months, which ended in a motion of censure and a change in the local government.
HOOLIGANISM OR POLITICAL REVENGE
Regarding what happened at the door of the Town Hall, the former mayor of the town, Jaime Hernández, did not want to make conjectures and denied that the incident was related to the motion of censure that removed him from his position. "It would be absurd to interpret this fact as a reaction to the political change that was experienced in Firgas a month ago," he stressed.
The former mayor took advantage of the conversation with ACN Press to appeal for calm and prevent rumors from distorting the investigations. He believes that it is necessary to be prudent, because it is still too early to make assessments.
