The residents of the municipality of Tías have until next Friday, December 4, to pay, in the voluntary period, the Real Estate Tax (IBI), as well as the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE) corresponding to this year 2015.
From the Department of Finance of the municipality they have reported that the payment period for these taxes in the voluntary period began on August 17. In this sense, the councilor responsible for the area, Ramón Melián, has pointed out that more than 23,000 taxpayers in the municipality of Tías have benefited from the IBI reduction approved by the government group for this year, which is around 30% on average.
"Not in vain", explains Melián, "Tías has become one of the municipalities in the Canary Islands with the lowest tax pressure and we have also managed to reduce the cadastral values of properties, adapting them to the new economic reality".
The Tías City Council has also established bonuses of up to 50% for homes that are officially protected and 2% for large families or common-law couples.
Taxpayers who have not yet made the payment of their taxes can do so through the banks la Caixa, Banco Santander, Bankia, BBVA and Caja Rural de Canarias. Likewise, residents may request their receipts through the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council or at the Collection office itself.
