The IV Congress of Nationalist Youth of the Canarian Coalition (CC), held yesterday in Mazo, on the island of La Palma, closed with the election of Jonathan Felipe Lorenzo from La Palma as the first general secretary of the youth organization.
According to a statement from the organization, the candidacy headed by Felipe Lorenzo obtained the support of 83 percent of the delegates from the eight islands and Venezuela who attended the Congress and takes over from Abel Morales.
Lorenzo is a lawyer, spokesperson for the Canarian Coalition in the Breña Alta City Council and was 'number three' in the candidacy of the Canarian nationalists for Congress of Deputies in the elections held last year.
Migdalia Machín, CC councilor of the Island Council of Lanzarote, will occupy the Deputy General Secretariat, while Alicia Castellano from Gran Canaria will be the new Secretary of Organization of the Nationalist Youth. The National Permanent Commission is completed by Germán Montero from Fuerteventura, who will assume the Deputy Secretary of Organization.
The Executive Secretariats designated in the Congress are distributed as follows: Carlos Iván Pérez (Communication), Octavio Reyes (Education and University), Marlene Magdaleno Sanz (Foreign Affairs), Felipe David Benítez Pérez (Youth Emancipation), Vahitiare Santana (Training and Identity), Ana Yare Rodríguez Aparicio (Participation) and Yasmina García (Development and Sustainability).
The four young people who will be part of the National Executive of the Canarian Coalition are the following: Abel Morales Rodríguez, José Téllez Ledesma, Daniel Morales García and Luis Suárez León.
The IV CC Congress was attended by, among others, the general secretary of CC, José Miguel Barragán; the president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Paulino Rivero; the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Antonio Castro; the mayor of Mazo, Nieves Barreto Hernández and the CC deputy, Ana Oramas.
