The Yaiza City Council publishes this Wednesday the open tender to execute several actions aimed at improving the services of the Yaiza Sports Center with a base budget of 100,000 euros and an execution period of one

“We will rehabilitate two 3x3 basketball courts, a tennis court and the unconventional athletics track of the soccer field, investments of the municipal plan for the modernization of sports facilities that in this specific case we co-finance between the City Council and a subsidy that we obtained from the Autonomous Community of the program of areas of socioeconomic influence of the National Parks of the Canary Islands”, explained the mayor, Óscar Noda.

The basketball and tennis courts and the athletic track are "deteriorated", so the City Council commissioned the intervention project to rehabilitate these surfaces through the formation of continuous pavement based on resins, which "allows sufficient absorption of impacts to protect athletes in jumps or falls and the appropriate slip control for each type of sport, minimizing the risk of injury", according to the City Council.

The 3x3 basketball courts have an area of 286 m2, the tennis court 575 m2, while the athletics track has 1,680 m2. The intervention includes the marking of the surfaces and the fencing of the area occupied by the basketball and tennis courts, freely accessible courts located right next to the soccer field.

Óscar Noda has stated that “more actions are planned to improve sports facilities charged to the Yaiza 2021 Budget” that the City Council has just approved and that have “other projects already presented to other institutions for co-financing”. "We have the economic capacity to assume the execution of works with our own funds, but also, being a healthy Administration, we can sign agreements with different administrations," he pointed out.

The mayor, who was this Wednesday in the area of action together with the councilors of Works and Sports of Yaiza, Jonatan Lemes and Ángel Lago, respectively, recalls that the City Council is about to award another project co-financed with the National Parks program. "This is the adaptation of electrical installations in the schools of Uga, Las Breñas and Femés, to adapt the installations to current regulations and promote the use of clean energy."
