The Departments of Beaches and Roads and Works of the City Council of Tías began last Monday the repair and adaptation works of the access ramps and the solarium area that Playa Grande has for people with reduced mobility, facilities that were damaged by the storm that hit the island at the end of February and that, according to the City Council, will be back in service from this weekend.

However, the Emma storm damaged these facilities on February 28, as well as the access ramps to this complex, in addition to causing data in other points of the coast of Puerto del Carmen.

"The Easter season will be at the end of this month of March and many visitors will frequent the beaches of Puerto del Carmen, including people with disabilities. We want to have these facilities operational so that they can better enjoy their stay on our coastline", said the Councilor for Beaches of Tías, Nerea Santana.
From the Consistory it is pointed out that the government group of Tías has been working "intensely" on the beaches of Puerto del Carmen and in the pier of the Pila de la Barrilla that suffered damages, pointing out that the Department of Beaches of Tías gave priority in a first moment to the cleaning and opening of the areas most frequented by bathers and divers, among them the pier of La Pila de La Barrilla, where 48 hours after the storm the debris that had originated by the partial lifting of the pavement was removed.
