The Tías City Council promoted the Conecta Tías community intervention strategy from the beginning of this year to promote participatory culture in the municipality. The City Council has provided it with a headquarters that centralizes its activity and has required an investment of 27,136.81 in various works to condition the facilities.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Nicolás Saavedra, and the delegate Councilor, Kalinda Pérez, point out that the municipal dependencies where the Conecta Tías civic center is located today, located at Calle César Manrique 37, Puerto del Carmen, "presented many deficiencies for its use".
After the execution of numerous works to adapt the building, both the pavement and walls and the essential connections, these dependencies are being used by the numerous groups that make up Conecta Tías, distributed in 6 lines of action: youth and minors, advice on social rights, social inclusion, active aging, health promotion and sports
During these months, the adaptation works of the electrical installation of this municipal unit were carried out, some modification, installation, wiring, conduits, control panel, protection and lighting works that required an investment of 9,620.35 euros.
The space of the Conecta Tías civic center also needed the change of the pavement of the premises, as it was in a poor state of conservation. For this, an expense of 3,824.42 euros was made.
And to conserve and improve the functionality of the building, in addition to improving ventilation and ornamentation, making it easier for the interior spaces to be used for different uses, the necessary works were contracted for an amount of 13,692.04 euros.
Conecta Tías was created in the municipal area to bring citizens closer and motivate them about citizen participation mechanisms at the local level. The objective is to centralize and strengthen the main forms of organization of civil society in participatory culture and more than thirty associations are already involved.
