The El Aljibe Hall of the CIC El Almacén will host, from this Tuesday until May 14, the exhibition "Movement and Direction of Escape. Acclimatization I", a collective exhibition curated by the art historian Dalia de La Rosa and which exhibits works by the creators Gabriela Bettini, Liliana Zapata, Manuel Diego Sánchez and Racso Zehcnas.

From the Cabildo they detail that "Movement and Direction of Escape. Acclimatization I" is "a first chapter within a series of works that analyze the concept of acclimatization." "But adapting it and extrapolating it, from the scientific dynamics from which it comes, to spaces of thought and cultural, social or political themes," according to Dalia de la Rosa herself, curator of the exhibition.

De la Rosa explained that the exhibition reflects "the new forms of mobility on the territory that were generated from the gold rush in the United States, through the audiovisual piece by Manuel Diego Sánchez; the productive models based on wild extractions on the territory that is reflected in the work of Liliana Zapata; the traces and violent interactions between the body and the territory, of the visual piece by Racso Zehcnas; or the modifications of the natural environments after the nineteenth-century scientific expeditions carried out in Africa, America or Asia in the work of Gabriela Bettini".

Along with the curator, two of the artists who show their work, Racso Zehcnas and Liliana Zapata, have been present in the assembly of the exhibition. Zehcnas explained that his work "deals with the way in which we have assimilated political positions, which are linked to our society and end up going unnoticed, but generate a memory of power in society," he said.

For her part, Liliana Zapata, explained that she has collected "images of an environmental disaster in the Bolivian Amazon, fires that caused the burning of 5 million hectares, and which are partly due to the extractive production system promoted by the Bolivian state itself," said the creator.

Alberto Aguiar encouraged the population to come and visit the exhibition. "This is one of the many activities planned at the CIC El Almacén and that we will be presenting in the coming weeks, in which we are committed to plastic and visual projects linked to contemporary culture," said Aguiar.

The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo also encouraged the inhabitants of the island "to attend all the parallel activities that are organized around 'Movement and Direction of Escape. Acclimatization I', which include guided tours, two conversations with the artists and a performance in the room itself".
