The Public Works Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender, through a simplified open procedure, for the contracting of the work called 'Island Cycling Route. Guatiza-Cemetery Section' in the municipality of Teguise.
Specifically, it is a section of the LZ-406 road, better known as the Santa Margarita road, which currently has "significant deterioration with numerous potholes, potholes and even collapses in some areas of the road." "From the Cabildo, and with FDCAN Funds, we are going to invest more than 272,000 euros in the rehabilitation and conditioning of this section of road, which will be included in the Island Cycling Route," explains the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina.
"With the execution of this new project, whose execution period will be approximately two months, we are going to improve the functional and structural characteristics of this road to achieve safer and more comfortable circulation for both vehicles and cyclists," adds the councilor. In addition to reinforcing the pavement, this road will be provided with shoulders and protection against unevenness, while new vertical and horizontal signage will be placed.
