The plenary hall of the Cabildo hosted this Monday the act of inauguration of the 17 young people who will become part of the staff of officials of the Security and Emergency Consortium, after passing the selection process to provide vacant firefighter-driver positions.
Chedey Rodríguez Quintero, Esteban Perdomo Barreto, Claudio Luis Cabrera González, Néstor Crespo Rodríguez, Aarón Rodríguez Márquez, Acaymo Rodríguez Quintero, Carlos Cordero Rodríguez, Dennis Manuel Regulión Álvarez, Cristobal Jesús Gil Martín, Alejandro Melián Brito, Oliverio Torres Fajardo, Santiago Montesdeoca Jiménez, Alfonso Morillo Castro, Juan Ramos Rosales and Rubén Tomás Guerra Rodríguez are thus incorporated, for the moment, as trainee civil servants.
After the signing of the minutes of possession of the 17 public employees, the Security Councilor and President of the Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinction Consortium, Ramón Bermúdez, expressed his satisfaction at fulfilling an old demand, "which has been possible thanks to the union and consensus in the management of the Consortium, formed by the Cabildo, City Councils and the Government of the Canary Islands, and whose ultimate goal is to improve the service above political colors."
"The management, professionalism, and good work, must be the only battle horse of this Consortium, and the political struggles, legitimate in other forums, should not cloud or distort relations."
Likewise, Bermúdez dedicated a few words to the new incorporations, urging them to get involved in the service to the citizen with the responsibility they deserve, as well as to be prepared to participate in any emergency not only in the island territory, but also outside of Lanzarote.
For her part, the president of the Cabildo, Manuela Armas, congratulated the firefighters and expressed her pride in the resolution of the Consortium, which welcomes new firefighter personnel, necessary to cover an old demand on the island in terms of security.
