The Cabildo has opened the call for the public tender for the award of works corresponding to the project of a preferential bus stop in Puerto del Carmen. Those interested in competing for it may submit offers from this Thursday, with a limit of thirteen calendar days. The work has a base bidding budget of 626,548.21 euros and an execution period of six months.
This preferential mini-interchange stop will be located at the confluence of the Rambla Islas Canarias of Puerto del Carmen-Avenida Juan Carlos I, (in front of the nursery and the IES Puerto del Carmen). It is included in Axis 8 of the Operational Program, and is financed with ERDF funds from the European Union for the outermost regions, within the ERDF Canary Islands Operational Framework 2007-2013.
Those interested in participating in this public tender can obtain the documentation and information they need from the Works, Services and Supplies Contracting Service, located on the ground floor of the Cabildo building, by calling 928 59 85 29 or sending an email to: eugeniatorres@cabildodelanzarote.com. You can also consult the Cabildo website: cabildodelanzarote.com/contratacionpublica/perfildelcontratante.
The preferential stop aims to become a point where intercity and urban bus services operating in the area temporarily converge, until the future Tías bus station is built. It will be the start of Line 34 Interior de Tías, already in operation, and also of the future Interior Line of Puerto del Carmen. On the other hand, it will be a transit point for the intercity lines that run through the town. Users will be able to transfer without having to change to the main towns in the South of the Island, connecting directly with Arrecife and Costa Teguise and soon with the airport.
Features
The number of regular transport users, who are estimated to use this stop, will be approximately 180,000 per year, with forecasts to increase in boom years. The project of the preferential stop includes the construction of a waiting terminal, with a kiosk (for the sale of tickets, magazines?), two adapted bathrooms (one male and one female) and a warehouse for cleaning. There will also be an area protected from the weather by a covered pergola with capacity for 25 people.
The platforms will be identified with information monoliths equipped with panels with LED monitors, lighting and electrical outlet for recharging new generation hybrid and/or electric vehicles. In addition, a segregated lane has been designed for access to three platforms and a loading and unloading area, and a waiting lane with a minimum capacity for two buses has been provided.
The planned action also includes the execution of the cobbled waiting area, the traffic lanes and waiting platforms for vehicles and the equipment with street furniture in the area.
