The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, has summoned the mayors of the municipalities of Tinajo, Haría and Yaiza to a meeting that will take place at the headquarters of the Cabildo next Tuesday, April 27, to discuss the debt of the fee that the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism have with these municipalities.
It should not be forgotten that this issue has been the subject of controversy in recent weeks, to the point that the Haría City Council challenged the budget of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, since the accounts did not include the debt of 1.4 million euros that the Cabildo maintains with the City Council, in relation to the payment of the fee of the Tourist Centers.
In fact, the mayor of Haría himself, José Torres Stinga, went out in a protest caravan through Arrecife, claiming the debt, and announced that he would go to court so that Justice would decide on the payment of this debt, as well as warned the Cabildo that it could close in May the "neighborhood roads" that lead to the Tourist Centers of the municipality.
