The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, received last week at the Presidency of the Institution the new commander of the Civil Guard Company of Costa Teguise, Antonio José Teruel Alberich, within the framework of an institutional visit aimed at reinforcing coordination in security matters in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The commander was accompanied by Captain Armando Fernández Martínez.
During the meeting, both parties held a working meeting in which issues related to citizen security, cooperation between administrations, and the improvement of prevention and response devices, especially in areas with high resident and visitor traffic, were addressed.
Oswaldo Betancort underlined the importance of maintaining fluid and permanent collaboration between the different institutions and security forces; and for this reason, from the Cabildo of Lanzarote, "we have full willingness," he said, "to collaborate and coordinate efforts with the Civil Guard and the rest of the security forces to multiply their presence in the territory and reinforce the tranquility and well-being of the citizens," pointed out the president.
Commander Antonio José Teruel has a broad professional career within the corps, having previously held the position of captain chief of Frontera and Fiscal of the Port of La Luz, where he carried out outstanding work in matters of control and interinstitutional cooperation.
Oswaldo Betancort and Antonio José Teruel agreed on the need to continue promoting joint initiatives that reinforce the security and trust of both residents and visitors to the island, contributing to the social and economic development of Lanzarote.
