San Antonio Hermitage in Tías

The Department of Historical Heritage of the Lanzarote City Council has initiated a new file for the declaration of Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), this time on the Hermitage of San Antonio de Tías and its bell as linked furniture, which will be framed in the Monument category.

The decree of the Department of Historical Heritage, dated December 21, has been published this Monday in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), which also includes the technical and legal reports that support the initiation of this procedure.

This file adds to those already initiated by the Cabildo in 2022, which affect several interventions by Manrique, such as Los Jameos del Agua and its auditorium, the El Diablo de Timanfaya restaurant, the headquarters of the Foundation that bears his name and what was his house in Haría. In addition, the process has also been initiated to declare the Islote de Fermina, the Church of San Marcial and three properties located on Calle Real in Arrecife as Assets of Cultural Interest: the old Oriental hotel, El Mercadillo and the building that housed the Tamaragua store.
