The Cabildo de Lanzarote continues with the renovation and adaptation works of the building on Calle Garajonay, number 2, in Teguise in its commitment to the recovery of the island's historical heritage. The purpose of the actions is to provide the municipality with a renovated space for associations and groups.

The works have a budget of 105,503.22 euros and are financed through the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF), within the framework of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy 'Conurban Azul', with the aim of preserving and making historical heritage an attraction for the population and for tourism.

The president of the island's Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted the institution's commitment to the recovery of heritage with similar actions already carried out in the municipality, such as the restoration of the Mill and the Windmill of Teguise or the restoration of the paving of León y Castillo street.

“We continue working so that the population and, above all, visitors to Lanzarote know part of our history in the best possible conditions”, assured the president.

In the same vein, the Councilor for Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, pointed out that “the renovation of the place is progressing well” and detailed that “this week the progress of the works has continued in these facilities that will have a multipurpose room for meetings and conferences, adapted bathrooms and a small room as a kitchen”.
