The Public Works Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has completed the project for the second phase of improvement of road access to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife. This was announced by the president of the Cabildo, Mara Dolores Corujo, who explains that "this necessary and demanded work consists of the creation of a new additional lane directly to the General Hospital at the junction of the Arrecife Ring Road (LZ-3) with the LZ-20 road (Arrecife-Tinajo) and that will also allow direct access to the industrial area, the Argana neighborhood and San Bartolom").

From the Cabildo recall that the link between these two roads "is a very dangerous point because, in peak hours of the day, there are many traffic jams in both directions, and even vehicles invade one of the lanes of the highway".

With the aim of finding a solution to this problem, the Cabildo plans to build an additional direct lane to the General Hospital on the north branch, while on the south branch the section will be expanded to two lanes.

As the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, stresses, "with these works we can increase the capacity of the link between the LZ-3 and the LZ-20 and avoid the accumulation of vehicles in the Ring Road, resulting in a platform composed of two lanes".

Medina advances that "this extension, which will have a base budget of more than 470,000 euros, will not involve the occupation of land that does not already belong to the road area". Thus, the councillor details that "in order to achieve this platform extension, the adjacent land will be cleared and filled and retaining walls will be built".
