Ciudadanos has achieved this Tuesday that the Cabildo of Lanzarote unanimously commits to commissioning an updated study of the island's media from an external company. In this way, the Corporation will be able to know the audience of the media, "so that the advertising investment is effective".
The councilor of Ciudadanos, Benjamín Perdomo, has celebrated that his motion had the support of all the parties represented in the Plenary. "An updated study of media is a vital tool to know the way in which the people of Lanzarote consume information", Perdomo highlighted, who defends that "it is important to know which are the most followed media on the island and define audiences", so that "advertising contracting does not follow political criteria of affinity with the media".
The councilor considers that "it is necessary that each area of government makes known the activities and projects to be carried out", so "we must know in which media to invest so that the message is transmitted through the most appropriate channels and reaches the population effectively".
Finally, Perdomo has stated that "this proposal can be extended to the other municipalities of the island that, like the Island Council, invest in advertising".
