The Arrecife City Council announces the call for tenders, this Thursday, October 10, for the transformation project of the San Francisco Javier municipal soccer field. The City Council invests, co-financed with the Municipal Cooperation Plan managed by the Public Works area of the Island Corporation, an amount close to 4 million euros, taxes included.
“We were aware of the need to expedite this project given the poor condition of the facility as a whole,” said the mayor, Yonathan de León, who also stated that in this way “the commitment made to the residents of San Francisco Javier is fulfilled.
The mayor visited the current facility together with the Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Elisabeth Merino, and the vice president and Councilor for Public Works of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina.
“We will carry out the reconstruction of the grandstand and provide an appropriate roof to protect the public from the weather,” detailed the Sports Councilor, who also pointed out that one of the great demands of sports clubs will be carried out: the replacement of the current artificial turf and a new irrigation system.
The vice president and Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, explained a little more about the project and thanked the Arrecife City Council “for the collaboration and cooperation to carry out this project.” “A new sports hall will also be built next to the field, where there is currently a soccer field, with a roof that protects from the rain and the sun,” he added.
The project also contemplates the construction of new spaces to satisfy the general and regulatory needs of sports clubs, who have been demanding the execution of this project for years.
Companies interested in executing this project have until November 11 to submit offers.
