The festivities will have more than 50 security and emergency personnel, as well as a hospital post. In addition, public taxi and transportation services will be expanded throughout the week.

The Teguise City Council held this Thursday, August 22, the Security Board for the Caleta de Famara Festivities in honor of the Sacred Heart of Mary, with the aim of guaranteeing the well-being of citizens by intensifying emergency services during the festivities, which will take place from August 25 to September 1.

The Board was made up of the mayor Olivia Duque and representatives from the departments of Security and Emergency; Festivities; Roads and Works; Local Police; Civil Protection; Cleaning, and Classified Activities.

Olivia Duque highlights the need to offer festivities with the greatest possible security and tranquility to the citizens, thus ensuring a good development of the same. "The Caleta festivities are among the most important on the Island, as they mark the end of summer in Lanzarote and bring together thousands of people year after year, so it is extremely important to have all the emergency services," she says.

For his part, the Councilor for Local Police and Civil Protection, Ginés González, assures that the increase in the presence of the bodies is to prevent possible incidents, "so that the entire community can enjoy our patron saint festivities in peace."

The festivities will have more than 50 security and emergency personnel, to which reinforcement will be added during the weekend, as well as a hospital post. On the other hand, taxi and public transport services will also be expanded throughout the week.

Likewise, regarding transport, the City Council informs that people who wish to go to the Caleta de Famara Festivities with their own vehicle during the weekend will be able to access through the Soo road, since the road that connects Famara with La Villa will be closed to traffic, but both directions of the exit of the town will remain open.

The passage through said road will be prohibited on Friday, August 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday; on August 31 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and on September 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
