The City Council of Teguise has reinforced and added more resources in terms of coastal protection, with the acquisition of new naval, aeronautical and terrestrial telecommunications equipment. This initiative has been carried out thanks to a subsidy of 18,000 euros granted by the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote.
For his part, the Councilor for Local Police and Civil Protection, Ginés González, explains that this aid has been distributed between the municipality of Teguise, with a budget of 15,000 euros, and La Graciosa, with 3,000 euros for specific equipment. "This equipment will undoubtedly allow us to have a rapid action and better coordination with security and emergency professionals."
The Consortium's investment has allowed the purchase of two marine radios, an air band radio, a communications suitcase with 12 trunked radio system (Tetra) devices, three flashlights and a station base.
These devices are designed to facilitate communication in port, naval and airport environments, and are essential for coordination in rescue operations, maritime rescue and the use of drones.
The mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, appreciates the investment by the Island Consortium and emphasizes that "the safety of the population is one of our priorities." "With this new material we are improving our response capacity to any risk situation," says the first mayor.
