The officials of the Tahíche prison have taken their protest to the doors of La Mareta where the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, is spending his holidays. Several workers from the center have demonstrated behind a banner with the slogan "#prisons on strike" and have whistled. However, they have not been able to see Pedro Sánchez who left by car minutes later to visit the island.
The officials of the Tahíche prison have joined several days of general strike that have taken place in October and November, called by the ACAIP-USO, CSIF, CCOO and FeSP-UGT unions.
Among other things, prison officials demand a salary increase as the Civil Guard and Police forces have had, who have had their salary equated with the autonomous police.
Several VOX members came to deliver a letter
The protest of the prison officials coincided with the concentration of several VOX members who came to the doors of the residence to deliver a letter to the president of the Spanish Government. Among those were Fernando Bermejo, island coordinator, Jaime Canomanuel, island secretary and other members such as Sigfrid Soria. "We come with churros and chocolate to deliver them to the civil guards," Soria explained at the doors of the residence, who pointed out that "it is not an act of VOX, we are Spaniards who want to deliver a letter to the president." Letter that has been collected by the head of Security.
